Have you found yourself stuck lately? Has your business plateaued? Are your revenues at a standstill? I speak with a lot of design professionals and small business owners who are experiencing this, I offer them systems and strategies to change it and get their success back on track, their business back in forward motion. The ones that get it, climb on board. They set their hesitations aside and put their sabotaging behaviors on the back burner to get ahead. But so many don’t. These are who I call “the story people.”
Everyone has a story. Do any of these sound familiar?
- My mother loved my sister better.
- My husband left me. (Followed by I’m a single parent.)
- I suffer from (fill in the blank) depression, fibromyalgia, crone’s disease, tremors etc.
- I don’t have the right connections.
- I don’t live in the right place.
- I don’t know anyone.
- I’m busy cleaning up my family’s messes.
- I was a success a long time ago.
- My father died five years ago.
STOP! Get over yourself and your story or you will never move on, never get ahead, and never realize the incredible talent you are stifling. I know outrageously successful people that have overcome all of the supposed road blocks above to achieve their dreams and realize their life and business design. You can too.
We all have our stories, they are what make us who we are, but here is the really important part, you have a choice! Are you going to let your story stop you? Or, instead will you let it empower you and will you rise above the noise, the chaos, the junk, the challenges, the obstacles and more to grab your success. You do deserve it. You are capable of it. It isn’t going to show up on a silver platter with a gold spoon. You have to go after it.
Every mentee (coaching client) who I have ever worked with has had challenges to overcome, with some it is a serious battle with a debilitating illness robbing them of years of their life, with others it is financial obstacles that they have to reconcile, with still others it is toxic people syndrome (you know when you surround yourself with those that don’t support you). But whatever it is or was they conquered it. They decided that their talent was worth pursuing, their dreams worth living, their success within reach. Yours is to but if you put your story in the way, you will forever hide from it.
