My promise to you is to provide outrageous value in showing you how to design your creative practice to deliver your exquisite life.
I’m your guide, director, translator and mentor to move you from where you are to where you want to be. Coaching isn’t big enough to describe what I do and consulting, well, it’s just not really juicy enough, if you know what I mean. And if you want a shortcut with proven strategies, simple systems, motivation tips, and mindset tricks, get regular updates in our community here!
My stories (and you’ve got some great one’s too) and life and business lessons are what had me speaking early on, empowering audiences to “prosper by design.” I also taught busy professionals at Evening at Emory for over a decade and at Oglethorpe University’s continuing education program.
Today, I get to live my dream of speaking and consulting with established entrepreneurs ready to take their business to the next level and blow the doors off their house of business.
When I stepped into the business world I was following my mom’s dream for me. She’d known she wanted to be an actress at just 7 years old, and at 23 she’d won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in The Razor’s Edge (yeah, kind of an obscure film today, but worth a look.)
Have you ever found yourself following someone else’s dream for you? To mom’s credit, it was a great dream, it included my kick ass business degree from Cornell University (never would have happened without that push from mom.)
BUT, (and it’s a big one), it wasn’t my dream. Mom’s sudden death, when I was just 24 years old, put me into a tailspin. It took me 5 long years to get the message in her passing and when I did, everything changed.
The big takeaway is that your life is perishable, fragile, and too unpredictable to spend your time doing something that you don’t love. It is never too early or too late to start designing or redesigning your best chapter in life and turning your passion and potential into profit with a business you love.
I quit, not just my job, but my career in hospitality purchasing. I made a complete turn to my new creative path of interior design. While I was armed with my business degree and experience, I was also mired in debt. I’d tried to fill the hole in my heart from mom’s death with stuff (can you say shopaholic?)
Despite an upside down beginning, I built a successful boutique interior design practice with exclusive clients. Along the way I learned that my extraordinary income results were not normal, nor was having the time for an exquisite life. Suddenly I had design colleagues and other creative small business owners asking me for coaching and marketing strategies, so that they could redesign their business to work with their own exclusive clientele, provide exceptional value, generate extraordinary income, and have time for their exquisite life.
For me, my wildly talented clients, and my amazing community, a successful business is one that informs and inspires, serves and supports, fuels and feeds the whole of your life and doesn’t swallow you whole. If this sounds like the kind of business you are building, join my tribe!
In today’s digital world, there is no work-life balance; instead you’ll discover work-life fusion where you bring the best of yourself to your work and your play, your business becomes the place for you to grow and glow.
My business has taken me around the globe to destinations including Australia, New Zealand, China, Bali, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Nepal, and Bali. Like my mom, I have an insatiable curiosity about other countries, cultures, and customs and it shows up in my eagerness to learn about your business and find creative ways to generate that irresistible combination of bliss and bucks.
We truly turn your business into your playground for profit where you are energized and excited on a daily basis delivering your one-of-a-kind combination of gifts, expertise, and experience with authenticity and integrity.
While I used to impact just a few clients through creating personalized environments, today, I reach thousands (according to LinkedIn it’s millions!), by designing personality driven marketing that keeps your business moving forward.
Forbes recognized me as one of the Top 20 Women for Entrepreneurs to follow on Twitter in 2010. I’ve been online making a difference for interior designers, architects, remodelers and creative business owners for over a decade.
My great grandfather, the iconic American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, used to be accused of “shaking houses out of his sleeves.” I like to say that I shake marketing magic out of mine, designing your business to be that place where you are truly at home, working exclusively with clients who know, like, and trust you completely, delivering exceptional value, generating extraordinary income and living your own exquisite life.
Like great grandfather, design is in my genes, and both showing you and working with you to design your own prosperous house of business is the best environment I can imagine creating for a truly happy life with the time freedom and financial resources to deliver your dreams. You deserve to have a successful design business that reveals the goldmine of who you are and the unique difference you make. I’m here to show you how to do exactly that with ease and grace.
