I’ve been in business over fifteen years and I’ve studied it for even longer. What I’ve noticed is that when I’m in flow, confident, comfortable, and excited about who I am, what I offer, my talents and my gifts, I don’t have to market. I simply connect to a prospect, determine their need, and engage them in my process as their solution.
You don’t need a magic pill or great guru.
Yes, it does sound simple and it is. Simple but not necessarily easy because we are taught from the word go that marketing is the magic we need. With the right tools, the right system, the right guru we will have the magic pill that will make it all work. This is a falsehood, and I want to wake you up to reality today. Business can be so much more fun than we tend to make it and this is how to find that fun.
Ditch the pitch, skip the sell.
I’m not pushing, poking, hyping, pitching, or selling. I’m just finding out who my prospect is, what they need and how does that fit with who I am and what I have in the way of talent and gifts that can fill their need. Gone is that uncomfortable place where you try to convince someone that you are the answer but you forgot to truly assess their problem and also ignored the fit between two people.
What to do with all those marketing tools you already have.
Now, I’ve got a mother lode of marketing tools, tactics and techniques. And the key is that they all rely on me being the best of my real self, not some veneered faux version. The marketing tools are the least of how you win clients and in fact all the tools in the world won’t save your business if you don’t know who you are, what you bring to the table, and the transformation that your product or service provides. You’ve got to uncover your authentic self, let the real you shine through all the noise you’ve been taught to create.
Step out of the noise and into your flow.
So, take time right now, to stop that marketing treadmill you are on. Step away from that place where you feel like “gee if I just had that next hottest marketing system, my problems would be over,” and instead look into yourself. Who are you? What are your talents and gifts? How do you want to feel at the end of each day? (This is way beyond just a bigger bank account.)
Find your success zone and satisfaction peak.
When you take the time to do this, you will find that your business and your life will come more from a place of flow and less from a place of force. You will become the magnetic attractor for your ideal clients that you always intended to be. Success and profits will become a by-product of your professional and personal satisfaction. You will trade busy for productive and find you’ll get more done that matters in less time and enjoy doing it.
