I’ve noticed that there are a lot of folks on the networks that get quite bent out of shape if they are not followed back or friended in short order. Perhaps what they forget is that many of us are busy in real time! While I do know that protocol dictates that on Twitter, you follow back those who follow you, and on Facebook it is perfectly acceptable to friend those who are friends of friends, this can take some of us a week or two to get to it.
Just because you may spend hours a day and days a week online sending messages or you have successfully networked yourself into your cell phone and wear your thumbs out texting doesn’t mean the rest of us will follow so quickly. I do a lot of business in real time, face to face or voice to voice and save the cyberspace connecting for down time. Otherwise I’ll get lost in the chatter and easily miss hours at a time. Patience rules or you will miss some quality connections.
