Fewer Select vs. Too Many Bargains . . .

I’ve gotten better on the shopping front since I do have to do it periodically to keep up with changing style and occasionally shifting body bits! I’ve learned that it is far better for me to have a closet of selected favorites than a wealth of nonselect bargains. It is often easy to get carried away at a Marshall’s or a T.J. Maxx with the idea one is getting a deal. Whether or not we actually will wear the deal, we have the occasion, or more is usually questionable. Whereas if I focus on higher quality classics that I can wear all the time like my Talbot’s black stretch slacks, and the new Nordstrom Missook coordinates I can go from a professional day to a play night to travel with very little thought and always look good.

I’ve never been one to want to spend hours on getting ready, the experience of an event, a meeting, a sharing is far more important than preparing for it. I’m fond of saying that I am one of the fastest women to get out the door this side of the Mississippi, taking only 20 minutes from out of bed to out the door and that includes making the bed, shower, dress, face, and hair. Guess the reward is more time for the fun of business and life of pleasure! MG
