Paris, France – Hotel Napolean

Located just down the avenue from the Arc de Triomphe, this luxury boutique hotel is one of the Epoque Hotels, a group with properties throughout Europe.

The rooms were recently renovated and done in the Belle Epoque style. A lovely bar is situated just off the lobby and hosts continental breakfast for all guests each morning. The lobby sports a number of cozy niches for intimate conversations. Service is friendly, and best if you can try and speak French! I have to say I got a grin when I saw that at the side of the bed were cabinets housing chairs and a meeting room table, so that the bed could be put out of sight (Murphy style) and the room transformed into a corporate meeting space. I had done a design almost identical some 2+ decades ago in college! It was a treat to see it brought to fruition, and very unexpected. They had loads of closet space for him and her and a decadent honor bar (I am a sucker for over priced sodas and the occasional champagne for a bubble bath!).
