SOCIAL NETWORK SUCCESS: What to Say When You Don’t Know What to Say!

When I share with colleagues and creative types that I am on the social networks, engaged in Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to name but a few, one of the first questions is “what on earth do you say?” It isn’t that difficult. When I first climbed on, I was overwhelmed and disinterested too, but I persisted and have found an incredible and limitless group of talented professionals of all age ranges, specialties, and generosities. It is about being positive.

Often I’ll share quotes from the Yogi Tea I drink. Folks love how positive these are and often share them further. I’ll give a link to my latest blog post, my newest ezine release, a funny YouTube video, a value packed website on business design, or anything that is positive and provides value.

The key to communicating with those we don’t know yet is to keep it upbeat, relevant, and useful. It isn’t about you; it is about what you can bring. My Yogi Tea says “your greatness is not what you have, it’s what you give.” So stop thinking this is about you and think instead about what you can share that will bring someone a smile, an insight, a leg up on their day, their life, or their business. It doesn’t matter what industry we are in, we are all just people.

When you get over yourself, you can get on with your life!
