It has taken me years to learn this, but learn it I have. Life and work is as hard or easy as we decide to make it. Really.
What are your success habits?Think about this for a minute. When you create solid success habits that drive the right clients into your business, when you have solid systems in place for delivering value to those clients, when this means that you have a profitable business model and cash flow you can count on, then doesn’t the rest of your life become pretty great too? Your business fuels the bigger dreams of your life. When your business or career works, your life works. So let’s take a look at the 5 wickedly simple ways to make business easy and your life great!
#1 Know What You Want
This isn’t rocket science. When you don’t know what you want, anything will do. I remember my Dad asking us, when we were kids, what movie we wanted to see. When we’d reply “I don’t know,” he’d say “okay, we won’t go.” OUCH! You can’t get what you don’t know you want. So get clear on what you want (and let go of what you don’t want.)
#2 Have a Plan
As I addressed in a recent article, winging it doesn’t work. You will waste more time, more energy, and more unhappiness being a wandering generality instead of a meaningful specific (thanks to Zig Ziglar for those monikers.) Craft a plan. It doesn’t have to be set in stone, it isn’t going to be perfect. It is intended to be a flexible road map for achievement and experiences that you can tweak, improve upon, and change along the way. Perfect is not a plan.
#3 Create Habits of Success
What you do repeatedly informs your business and your life. Make sure the habits you have formed serve your success and don’t rob you of it. This might include what time you get up each day, if you exercise, eating healthy to keep your energy up, saying daily devotionals, how many calls you make per day, how many prospects you reach out to, how many clients you say thank you to and more. Success leaves clues, your habits are your clues.
#4 Develop Systems of Value Delivery
You will save time and energy when you develop systems to deliver your value. You may not think you have them, I bet you do. I did things differently in my business for years and it wasn’t until I began teaching it that I realized I had a collection of systems that drove my success. This also meant it could be duplicated and wasn’t dependent on my unique talent but could be leveraged by many others with their own unique talents.
#5 Say Thank You
Every time you say thank you, to a client, to a vendor, to yourself, to your family, to anyone you multiply your good fortune. When you forget, you quickly step into that space of lack. Stay in abundance with gratitude. Gratitude is an essential success habit and can be easily incorporated into any system you create to deliver your value and gifts.
