On Parties . . . Instructions for Celebrating

Had my xmas bash last night, it was well received and great to see everyone. Got some really unique and original ornaments! :). My favorite is the one of Santa as a parachutist with my image attached in tandem, what a stitch!! I had actually printed up celebration instructions and to my delight, they were well heeded, avoiding my usual trapped in the foyer greeting everyone. . . .

Celebration Instructions!!

Come on in, forget about ringing the bell!!

Coat in the closet or on the chairs!

Head to the bar for a glass of holiday cheer, red, white or champagne!

Please do sign the guest book and note what you are sharing with me!

Mingle, mix, meet new friends, rekindle old relationships!

Eat, drink, and be merry!

Go home with your spouse or significant other if you brought one! Pick up someone new if not! (I won’t tell, but do want details!)

Talk about the party for days and days and look forward to the January invite!!

Only disappointment was that a handful of folks expected didn’t make it. Seems this year everyone is overwhelmed, tired out (or as they say here “tuckered out.”) So many multiple party nights, mega committments. Not sure it is the season for celebration or just too much by too many . . . no wonder everyone takes the week between xmas and New Year’s off to recuperate.
