Welcome to the Affluent Creative podcast! During our time together, you’ll hear my story of building a business and brand while seeking that elusive work-life balance. It’s less of a balance than a fusion because as a creative, we don’t flip on our creativity at 7am and turn it off at 5pm. It’s running 24/7/365 and it’s who we are, beyond what we do.
I want to share the wisdom I’ve gained from moving from chaos to clarity, fear to focus, and from seeing obstacles to opportunity. My goal is that in listening to my stories and experiences, you will find the inspiration, courage, and motivation to overcome your challenges while knowing that you are never alone in them.
To kick off our inaugural episode, I’ll give you a glimpse into my story. However, my story would not exist were it not for my mother’s story, and even my godmother’s story. I come from a long line of creatives and each has shaped me into the person that I am today. It was a journey to uncover and tap into my innate creativity and find the right focus that put me on track to living and working, tuned in, turned on, engaged and connecting and making a powerful positive impact.
Growing up in the shadows of my renowned mother and godmother, I was pulled in many directions. However, I was unsure which direction I wanted to pursue. For some time, I found myself chasing the dream my mother had for me because I lacked the courage to follow my own dream. It took my mother’s sudden passing and five years beyond it, to get the big lesson and uncover what would be the secret to my success (and might well be the secret to yours too.)
Join me in today’s episode as I share these stories which will inspire you to take that leap of faith and transform your creativity into a business that informs and inspires, fuels and feeds, and serves and supports the WHOLE of your life, it does NOT swallow you whole.
In this episode, you will hear:
- How losing my mother, gave me the freedom to find myself
- The importance of living a “Why not?” instead of a “What if?” life
- Why it is so important to listen to your intuition
- What you need to ask yourself to ensure you are making the best decisions for yourself, your business, and your creativity
