Wow, what a wonderful weekend! I was hosted by the delightful Susan Claasen who has put together a terrific one woman show presenting the life of my late godmother, costumer to the stars, Edith Head. Susan truly does resemble Aunt Edie and beyond that has done an astounding amount of research with the help of Paddy Calistro, author of Edith Head’s Hollywood, the definitive posthumous biography. It was such a treat to learn so much and I felt like I discovered a new family of friends in Tucson. Do check out Susan’s next tour stop and preview. She also does the play as a fund raiser and I am actively looking for fits, she is outstanding!
I had the privilege of meeting Larry Shades, a top designer for the last 44 years with great inspiration and feedback on my new goals and destinations. Thanks Larry! Being in the progressive West he is already using the new wireless, so to speak, flatwire in his projects. Folks this is hot stuff! A friend is the inventor and developer and it enables wiring of both electrical, audio, and computer without invading sheetrock! (More on this later . . . ) Also John Peter, a true Renaissance spirit proving the gifts of an eclectic creative background in this theatrical talents. Thanks too to Cathy, DeDe, Bella, Jim, Phyllis and everyone for making such a memorable trip.
The weather was pristine, dry and sunny. The colors of the buildings joyous in their electric brightness. The Southwestern cuisine a favorite! The new friends met were incredibly generous in their hospitality and warmth, and I can’t wait to return.
Travel Well and Beautifully!!
