Garbage Museum Doesn’t Stink!
On my way headed home by way of Hartford I had the adventure of checking out the Garbage Museum (not a typo!). This is usually for kids, but should be in every city as a wonderful learning tool about the benefits of recycling and the consequences when we don’t.
They had limited but very creative exhibits (artists are infamous recyclers) and best of all they were attached to a recycling plant for glass, aluminum, cardboard and plastic. It was fascinating to watch it come in from neighborhood waste trucks, be dumped, pumped and sorted. The only facts and figures they didn’t have were the dollars it cost to actually retrieve the refuse, sort and produce for reconsumption. Guess kids aren’t interested in the dollars and cents!
Travel well and beautifully,
