This was a blast! I’d never been to Cape Cod or Nantucket before and it was absolutely beautiful. Once I got past the horrendous heat wave the first day, it was comfortable with a continual ocean breeze. I went primarily to see friend Susan Claasen do her “Conversations with Edith Head.” Aunt Edie, as I knew her, was my Godmother and costumer to the stars for over 50 years. She passed in the early 1980’s and Suz does a wonderful tribute one-woman-show.
The other best part was the gardens of Nantucket and even better Sconset. Wow! This was paradise for me with so many of the flowers I have planted at home in full bloom here and mature often to a height of four and five feet! Hydrangeas in glorious profusion, Queen Ann’s lace, Bee Balm, Hollyhock and too many more to name. I was more inspired than ever to turn my small yard into a jungle of blooms. Take a look at the house shot below and you’ll notice that they name their homes! This one is Hunky Dory, too fun. So what would you name your house?
Travel well and beautifully,
