I’ve talked a lot about the social networks and social media and how valuable they are. This article is about how to streamline your updating. I know many are overwhelmed by the amount of time they imagine (because in reality it doesn’t) it takes to keep up. While I could spend 5 hours a day, I usually don’t spend more than 1-2 hours a day on my networks. This isn’t idle gab time; it is connection opportunities, value content sharing, and marketing. What I have learned are the shortcuts. Read on for the details to saving your time and maximizing your reach.
Ping.fm is one of my success secret weapons! You can sign up for free at www.ping.fm. What this service enables you to do is link to all of your networks, in my case that means Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, My Space, Pounce, Tumblr, and a few more. Then I can post a status update, a micro-blog, or even a full blog post and “ping” it. This means that I post it in www.ping.fm and they ensure it goes instantly to all of my networks. In other words, I don’t have to go to each site, I only go to www.ping.fm. Now I won’t be able to reply to any responses I get through this, but I can check those later. This is free, easy, and reliable.
Often you may not have time to engage in conversation and chat, but you want to share a bit of news, a tip, a website or web post with your networks. This is a great way to do it cost effectively (f.r.e.e.) and time consciously!
