I had a funny thing happen recently in the Los Angeles airport, good old LAX — I was waiting on luggage and I tend to be one of those that waits at the bottom of the chute so I can see when my bag is coming down. However, even if it does come down, if I can’t reach it, I give it a chance to come back around. It always does! Others however, seem to forget this thing is circular and automated and are bound and determined to get their bag regardless of who or what might be in their way. I saw folks almost mow others down, including old ladies and kids in their ludicrous attempts to reach a monster bag, that would return in about 30 seconds. I call this a “special kind of stupid.” Besides the people watching at LAX is superior to almost any other airport and you’ll miss out if you grab your bags too quickly!
So next time you fly anywhere, give your bags a chance to take a spin on the luggage carousel and enjoy the visual feast of folks!
