I’ve been a Platinum member of www.ezinearticles.com for some time now, having submitted articles for over 5 years now. What does that mean? Whenever I write an article on marketing, lead generation, business development, decorating, staging, entertaining or more I publish it in an online article directory that is accessed by millions of viewers per week. These viewers not only read the articles but often take them for posting on their blogs, in their ezines, and for other uses.
The key is your Resource Box. Each article is available with a mandatory Resource Box. That is the box that provides links back to my blog, to a program I am offering, and to my site. It is my opportunity to tell the reader that if they liked this, here’s where to go for more! And if you want to see one, just click through to the full version of this article and you’ll see my resource box at the bottom of this article as an example.
Writing articles isn’t difficult. Every business owner I know has at one time or another created a tip sheet, crafted a special report, or turned out a piece on industry trends. If you can talk you can write! Set a target of two articles a week (I have two in every ezine you read!). They don’t need to be more than 250-300 words and are best if conversational in tone. Remember I said if you can talk, you can write. Think of your article as simply a conversation with your reader about a particular topic.
Picture your reader as your client and imagine some of the questions they might ask. You’ll have this dashed of in no time. Consider the following as jumping off points:
- The 5 Secrets to a Romantic Bedroom
- Quick and Easy Ways to Dress Up Your Dining Room
- 3 Essentials for Displaying Art
- How to Create a Comfortable Guest Room
Do you get the idea? Think in terms of great titles, use odd numbers, or a how to. (Yes, I will do a specific article on titles soon!) Bullet point your information and then fill in to form paragraphs. You do want to use bolding and headers to make it easy to read (or I should say skim as everyone’s attention span is getting shorter and shorter.)
